Health o meter's baby scale precisely measures the weight of your newborn within 0.5 ounces (or 0.1 kilograms). This accurate measurement helps to ensure your baby is getting the right amount of food, or provides a way to monitor their growth in between doctor's visits.
Once your baby outgrows the tray, the scale converts to a toddler scale with a capacity of up to 60 lbs.

Operating the Scale:
Place the scale on flat, level surface. A hard surface, such as a tile or linoleum floor, is the best for maximum accuracy. If the scale is placed on a soft, deep rug, then it may not produce accurate results. Once the scale is placed on an appropriate surface, press On/Off and wait for the display to show zeros. If the display shows '0:0', the scale is set to pounds/ounces; if the display shows '0.00' the scale is set to kilograms/grams. Press the lb/kg button to select between pounds or kilograms.
The scale can be operated with or without the tray. When using the tray, make sure that it is securely locked into place before placing your baby on the scale. Simply lay your baby on the tray and read the display. To use the scale without the tray, you'll need to remove the tray by turning the locking nut clockwise. The tray is replaced by four rubber plugs and a supplied plastic cover tab. Once the cover is in place, hold your baby upright on the scale, and place the baby's feet so that the weight is evenly distributed.

PERFECT for a worried mommy whose baby was "slow to grow"!
I bought this because my daughter in her first few months was slow to grow. She lost 9.5% of her weight in the hospital, just missing the max and almost had to stay longer. She didn't reach her birth weight for almost two months. Her pediatrician was suggesting we supplement with formula, but with my boys' dairy issues, I didn't want to take the chance.
The pediatrician said that he would like to see her DAILY for three days to have me weigh her before a feed and after a feed. Luckily, we passed that test. She was getting enough milk, but for some reason, she wasn't thriving. She was only in the 8th percentile. The pediatrician set a goal for her weight gain within a week, and just barely, she passed.
Well, "just barely" sends up red flags of worry in any mom's brain, so I wasn't satisfied. And instead of paying the $50 co-pay to visit the doctor daily (not to mention the travel time and time off of work), I decided to buy this for under $100 and weigh my daughter regularly.
Luckily, my daughter continued to gain slowly and then she started taking off. Now, as a 20-month-old she is in the 90th percentile for both height and weight and I do not need the scale. I used it for a while as a toddler scale but then donated it to the La Leche League in town, to help other worried moms.
The scale is super easy to use and super easy to clean. You just wait for the zeroes, lay the child on the little top part and wait a few seconds. Of course, watch your baby at all times, in case she or he tries to roll or wiggle out.
